Bottom Fishing Costa Rica
Full Day = $1199$1090 Half Day = $999$890
Bottom fishing Jaco technique involves lowering bait to the sea floor or just above the underwater structures to attract fish. It’s suitable for various skill levels, including novices, as it requires no special skills to be successful.
Our bottom fishing Jaco trips are a great way to target a wide variety of fish species, Red Snapper, Grouper, Amber Jack, Cubera Snapper, plus much more!
When it comes to tackle, bottom fishing typically requires heavier gear compared to other types of fishing due to the water depth, the size of the fish we’re after, and the need to haul the catch from the ocean floor. We generally use stout rods with strong lines, and the bait is taken down with a weight or sinker.
We offer Bottom fishing trips in addition to our deep sea fishing. Bottom fishing Costa Rica is done by dropping lines straight down and deep while drifting, as opposed to trolling like deep sea fishing. It is usually a bit more interactive than deep sea fishing, and a bit more consistent.
We like to recommend bottom fishing for families with kids, as the fish are much smaller and easier for the youngsters to handle. They are also usually good at eating.
The bait we use can vary but often includes cut bait like squid or smaller fish. Some species, such as Grouper, are more likely to go for live bait, so we’ll adjust our approach based on what we’re targeting and what the fish are biting on that day.
Bottom fishing trips are just one of the types of fishing charters we do with WHISPER FISHING. But they are rewarding!
One of the most rewarding aspects of Bottom Fishing Los Suenos is the element of surprise. Sure, we have an idea of what you might catch based on the location and bait, but we never know exactly what will bite. It could be a delicious Red Snapper, a hefty Grouper, or a hard-fighting Amberjack.
Another point to consider is that bottom fishing can be quite physical. It requires patience and a bit of muscle to both hold the line and reel in your catch from the depths. But don’t worry, we’re here to assist, and the thrill of landing a big one is well worth the effort.
Jigging Fishing Jaco is a very popular style. Thanks to new and exciting innovations, vertical jigging has become one of the most entertaining ways to hoist fish up from the deep.
One of the things that make this jigging technique different from anything done in the past is that all of the rods, reels, lines, and lures must be synchronized in order to achieve the maximum effectiveness. We use braided lines and high speed reel have taken things to a whole new level.
Jigs come in a variety of weights, shapes, and color configurations. Special “dancing hooks” attached to the lure using a short piece of braided line give the jigs maximum movement and make them irresistible to game fish.
Many of the fish that swim in our waters will readily eat these jigs without the slightest hesitation. The list is a long one, almost too long to mention. Here are only a few: Red snapper, Cubera Snapper, wahoo, grouper, bonito, barracuda, amberjack, and many more.
