Let me start by sharing a memorable experience I had today. Half Day Inshore Rooster Fishing
I had the pleasure of meeting a client from South Africa named Rudy, who currently resides in Boston. He visited our office and booked a Half Day Inshore Rooster Fishing on our center console boat, the Whisper. Since he was going solo, I decided to join him to capture some footage for our website and social media.
As we traveled to the location that Captain Pollo Loco wanted to explore, we began chatting. Once we arrived, the Captain equipped Rudy with our popping gear, and on his very first cast, he hooked a nicely-sized Needlefish.
Then came the moment we were all waiting for—Rudy caught his first Rooster. He fought it valiantly, but just as we neared the boat, the Rooster broke the line. The crew and I felt a mix of happiness and disappointment since Rudy lost that fish. During our conversation, Rudy revealed that he had saved for three years to vacation in Costa Rica, and Rooster Fishing was a lifelong dream for him!
What a revelation! This made the rest of the trip even more important for all of us, but we had the best crew on board.
We made a quick stop at Playa Fantasia for about 15 minutes so I could fly the drone and capture some footage of Rudy casting Poppers in front of the Whisper.
After that, Captain Pollo Loco took us to another spot, approximately five miles away, where Rudy cast for a Big Amberjack. We then moved on to Herradura Island, where the Whisper helped make Rudy’s dream come true.

– 2 Roosters: 1 on the popper and 1 on bait
– 3 Amberjacks: 1 on the popper and 2 on live bait
– 1 Needlefish on the poppers
It was a fantastic day on the Whisper with Captain Pollo Loco!
